About Us

Our Story

  • Fayette Biking for Life, Inc. was started by local cyclists in 1998 to promote safe cycling habits and advocate for the development of cycling-friendly roads and recreation areas.
  • After 10 years, Fayette Biking for Life reorganized as the SouthSide Cycling Club to promote and advocate safety and road awareness for bicyclists and to encourage and engage persons in the sport of any type of bicycling.
  • Local community service projects supported by both the Club and the Southern Conservation Trust begin in 2009 to build mountain biking and hiking trails in nature areas and public greenspace parks.
  • Bike Fayette was established in 2014 by request of the Club to assist Peachtree City, Georgia, obtain Bicycle Friendly Community recognition, and lead local bicycle infrastructure projects with the support of the Club.
  • Bike Fayette amended it's name in 2021 to Bike-Walk Fayette to reflect providing broad-based advocacy support for bicycles, pedestrians and micro-mobility transportation modes.
  • Bike-Walk Fayette today supports local residents and partner organizations with community planning and service projects. No funds are collected for the advocacy.
